Freshfields Donkey Village is a special charity that rescues and looks after abandoned, neglected or mistreated donkeys. The donkeys interact with children with disabilities who come to the donkey village on day visits. When Freshfields, the home of The Michael Elliott Trust in Derbyshire, first started out, a new roof was required to ensure the comfort and happiness of both the donkeys and the children.
Freshfields owners commissioned Sheffield roofing firm Dalton Roofing to install the roof – and they were thrilled with the results: “Dalton Roofing haven’t just put a roof on our farmhouse beautifully; they have brought forward the time when all those children with special needs can now spend time and holidays at Freshfields. The house now feels warm, essential to all the children with disabilities to be kept comfortable and happy, and for the first time in the two years since we arrived it’s drying out.”
“The charity achieves its objectives by rescuing the donkeys from abuse and cruelty and bringing the child and animal together to share the most wonderful Trust… That’s Freshfields. We would like to thank Philip on behalf of the Trust. Thank you.”
